Basic photo metadata guidelines - getting started with:

 

Adobe Photoshop CS4 & higher
Adobe Photoshop Elements 9 & higher

1. Open an image

2. Open the File Info panel: File > File Info...

 

 

3. Select the “Description” tab.

4. Enter data.

 

5. Click OK to save. 

 

Metadata input guide

 

Field  Preferred

Artist

(aka: Author, Creator)

Commas or semicolons separate Names.

If you enter a comma, it turns into a semicolon. 

 

Title 

Plain text.

Separate parts with semicolons.

Description

(aka: Caption) 

Plain text.

Separate parts with semicolons.

 

Keywords

(aka: Tags)

Commas or semicolons separate Keywords.

If you enter a comma, it turns into a semicolon. 

 

 

Copyright Notice

(aka: Copyright)

Plain text.
