Desired Goal or Outcome

Use the IPTC Core in Adobe Bridge to add preparatory cataloging metadata that can be exported and then imported to an editing tool or database.

Choice of Data Standard

You should be able to map the fields in your local database to IPTC Core, IPTC Extension, and especially VRA Core.

Choice of Tool

The VRA Metadata Palette contains fields appropriate for cultural heritage fields and the VRA Export-Import Tool allows you to export your pre-cataloging to an Excel spreadsheet.
